leicester regional report

leicester regional report

so friday i write my decklist and make the weirdest side ever (look at the decklist below)
and after no testing all week i decide to go with this build (playing yugioh should be kept to weekends only xD)


so

saturday i meet jack and birmingham new street and we make our way there

go in the shop to find jamie stafford there with chris and louis with was kool who i aint seen in ages

i do some trades get an armoury arm buy 2 spellcaster structure decks and 3 crimson crisis special ed's and pull
2 necroface and a goblin zombie aswell as 6 holos including a dark strike fighter xD

so after some time waiting

1st round is up


round 1 warrior toolbox thing

al i really see is krebons and a rota'd rose warrior
but after i swarm quickly with lightsworns i take the game quickly


1-0

round 2 shane bell

GB take the game i cant handle dimensional fissure

game 2 i somehow win

game 3 he wins

round 3

of the top of my head i cant remember but i win

2-1

round 4

my oppo didnt show so i win lol

round 5

i play chris carey is a loca l player with a decent reputation in leicester he always does well and was playing a dark warrior toolbox thing


game 1 i swarm and win via plaguespreader

game 2 i get crushed early and cant gain advantage and he wins

game 3 hes on like 3000 so i attack with lyla and he drops gorz so main phase 2 i sync for tempest magician drop my hand and remove all counters for game

4-1

round 6

louis aguilar playing GB with a sik secret side deck

game 1 i open with the best hand all day card of safe return charge charge solar recharge and necro i hit 2 wulf in the process and drop both lumina garoth combo and get 2 draws from garoth
he opens summons murmillo and tigers it for bestari hitting my face down roar with i chain he looks at his hand and scoops

game 2-3 he wrecks me proper


wait for standings and i come 7th

Great job on the Win. What was the Meta like up there? Is it true that the field is full of GB's?

well there was about 45-50 up there with about half running lightsworn about 12 running GB and rest were just random decks

Wow, I really expected there to be alot of GB's about. Seems to be the more consistant deck than LS, even if LS is more powerful. I guess people are still trying to figure out what is best to take to the Nats

I think the thought of the half the meta being covered by Gladiator Beast is a misconception, I mean as I see it theres actuallly more Plasma PC Decks being built, I think this format has the widest range of decks ever.

i disagree the triple trooper format had the most decks

i actully seen a few decent decks yesterday

i saw an angel permission deck with consisted of 22 counters along with boutifuls and 3 dark voltanis with plasmas and fires of dooms day a really decent deck with can lose a 1st turn crush the sheer amount of times people were opening with crush yesterday

as you well know a realy good way to hit ligthsworns  is using crush i can say i had it played 5round yesterday and he hit nothing in my hand and only hit a wulf from my draws

i can see it now i have a 90% idea GB will Take the nationals it was the most dominant deck 2 formats ago beat Chaos decks in terms of sjc wins and national championships as well was european championships and of course worlds


top 8 will consist of

5 GB
2 Lightsworn
1 Monarch with teched oppression possibly an apprentice oppression build

I agree. I feel a lot of players will opt for GB at nationals. My instinct just tells me. But, with so many Glads around, I personally don't like the ideas of so many mirror matches that can go either way. That's why I'm personally thinking down the route of anti-meta, or at least anti-glads. it's a shame I can't effectively run Oppression and Plasma in the same deck.

I agree. I feel a lot of players will opt for GB at nationals. My instinct just tells me. Well you sorta can....I will email you a deck list I have been working on that worked really well in testing against LS and Glads, just will never get the cards I need for Nats in time lol.

The good thing about Glads now is that they are just as consistant thanks to Summoner Monk and Rescue cat, but they aren't as powerful not being able to drop Gyzarus every turn. He will still com out, just not every turn. Although LS are supposed to be a good match up for Glads, side decks just wreck LS if done right.

And of course CCV......which people can force into Glads

Its the new tech for Glads (I say new, its been thought off before but never been put in place). It can hurt glads a bit, but it can KILL Lightsworn so I think its worth giving up Prisma, Darius and some Equeste to kill an entire deck.

Its one of the main reasons I'm going to main 2x Lyla lol. It's a good counter as it will also stop Stardust if they end up against some Synchros, get them to trib it and it will hit the RFG pile and stay there!

theres no cost in sending it to the GY same as thunder dragon

the cost is offering it as a tribute

Why? At the end of the day, it say send to the graveyard with D-Fissure they don't hit the graveyard so Kittys effect doesn't activate!

I agree, I think we need proof that it doesn't work, preferably from a Level 3 Judge or a Konmai/UDI offical would be great.

Does anyone have the old FAQ from the old UDE website that had the Individual Card Rulings?

rescue cat works the same as exciled force although people run exciled force in macro decks if it dont work then exciled force wont work then

but yea im right it does work

i had it checked out at sheffield yesterday since my opponent played it while having d fissure out the head judge is a lv3 head judge and his rulings are always accurate

so yea unless u have a link to an official ruling rescue cat still works im afraid

Stu, are you nuts, Exiled Force obviously work because it doesn't have to go to the graveyard to activate its effect but to fill its condition to activate its effect Rescue Cat has to go to the graveyard but it can't while Dimensional FIssure is on the field so IT CAN'T ACTIVATE IT'S EFFECT BECAUSE ITS DOESN'T FUFILL THE EFFECTS CONDITIONS!!!!!!

Stu, does Foolish work with Macro/Fissure? It doesn't. Then why would Rescue Cat? Rescue Cat specifically says send to graveyard and that is not possible with Macro/Fissure on the field. I could be wrong, but surely this is the ruling. Exiled works because it does not say send to graveyard, it says Tribute.

obv the rulings are weird on this card and untill the official ruling comeso ut for it i'd say u can use it with d fissure on the field etc... on field
