Boarders ReportsIt was a ok day for me all round. I was annoyed that we had to get up so early to get there for nine. Then after some confusion about where the tournament actually was, met up with Landstar and turned up. It is a really nice building and the room was great to. Only problem was that the tourny didn't start for another hour or so which was annoying, but gave us time to duel and trade.
Round 1 (Me Vs A Creater Deck)
He was a nice guy, but I didn't struggle with him. Double JD at the end of game 2 for kicks.
Round 2 (Me Vs Glads)
I was expecting this match up today and changed my side at the last minute for it. There was some small confusion over how Trap Eaters effect resolves and saying that you can chain War Chariot to him which was allowed. Either way I came out on top as LS is just to fast and every one hates Honest!
Round 3 (Me Vs Tom, Lightsworn)
We all know Tom and I was looking forward to this match up. Game one I was stuck with a completely monster hand an couldn't do anything. Game 2 and 3 Sided in Puppet Plants which worked great with the 3rd Celestia.
Round 4 (Me Vs Plants)
Not Plant Monarhcs, not Black Garden, just full blown Plants! I was looking forward to this match. First one was close, but Honest Wrecks Tytanniel. Game 2 was a real shame as he drew all spells. One monster he did drew was Tomato which he set and I used Ehren. T'was a shame
Round 5 (Me Vs Plasma Control)
Even as we started Game one, I wasn't sure whether this was Dark Monarchs or something else, but I managed to get game one with Swarm and Honests. I of course sided Rugs thinking monarchs and it wasn't until I saw Phantom Skyblaster that I figured it was Plasma Control. Needless to say I lost that game and got rid of the rugs. Game three was very close and I had to make a choice at one point whether to keep Lighting vortex or Honest. I opted to keep honest and it all came down to that in the end, Honest just Rules!
Having topped the Swiss I knew I was through.
Top 8 (Me Vs Lightsworn)
This was a match and a half for me, even though it was over in less than 10 mins. Game one he opened with Lyla and Secret Village and ended. My Hand Consisted of Charge, Foolish, 2x Celestia and 2x JD......not good. SO I passed and the next two cards were Mirror Force and Roar....both helped stall, but not enough. One thing I also remeber is he used garoths effect 4 times and didn't net any cards!
Game two was very stupid on my behalf. I managed to get the upper hand and determined to keep it, I swarmed the field (releasing Dandylion's Tokens aswell).....I ended up decking myself out becuase of those Stupid Tokens! I could have dropped double JD for game, but unfortunatly I didn't have the space, so I lost.
So I got two packs of CSOC and pulled a Ult Seed of Flames and Secret Village which wasn't to shabby. It also let me see how the format is folding out and it seems that LS, Twilight, Glads, Dark Monarchs are all at the top......its going to be an interesting format
