Well I had a good day all round. I didn't manage to do any trades, but after a long debate with myself, I chose not to run Lightsworn and Tried out my new Recruiter Chaos deck instead.

Apologies if I get the names wrong, I will go by deck

Round 1 Vs Spell Casters

It was great to see a girl there and although I won through Various means, it was a refreshing break. Black Rose and Caius FTW

Round 2 Vs Dragons

Not too bad, had a little trouble with Exploder Dragon at one point, but generally had the answers I needed

Round 3 Vs Zombies (Craig)

I was glad that I got to duel Craig, especially as it seemed he had a new zombie deck including Vayu! Game was was ok thanks to Thunder King, but Game two was close, but managed to win out with DAD.

Round 4 Vs Necro Control (Jack)

After seeing Jacks deck at Manaleak, I was curious to play against it to see how it did. First game he made a Major mis-play by using Plaguespreaders effect to summon him as opposed to using Mezuki. Game 2 I messed up with Summoning DAD for too quickly and leaving myself Empty. Game 3 was back and forth, but I managed to peck him down with Tomato and then use Goyo for game.

Round 5 Vs Stu (Blackwings)

I had already made top8, so win or lose, I wasn't too fussed. I lose both after several mis-plays on my half, including taking his Silver Shield with Mind Control, thinking I can't synchro with two tuners, attacking with DDWL and ending....he then kindly pointed out I could Sychro with DDWL Rolling Eyes

.

I thought about dropping out of Top 8 as I had to meet my GF at 4, but as it started at 3:25, I thought i could atleast Play top 8.

Top 8 Vs Stu!! Again!!

As this Match now mattered for Packs, I concentrated more. I think I played both games well, not making any bad plays. Used the most out of Thunder Kings and DDWLs. First Game Dropping Caius to win and the second getting out a Goyo and his only answer being DAD, but I flip over Oppression!

So even though I make top 4, I drop as I really had to go, so I claimed my packs and pulled...........Rubbish!! 2x CCV and 2x Trade-in out of 4 packs.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Pros:

The deck performing better than I thought it would.
Thunder King, DDWL and Caius...they all rocked!
Dropping in top 4......Never done it before and I don't think I will ever do that again lol

Cons:

Rubbish Pulls! No Super Garoth or Ult JD!!

well what a dat 23 people entered lots of interesting decks i decide to use my gadget oppression and see if i can make it 3 wins in a row which i did'nt

round 1
vs luke perczyk (blackwing)
well this kid has just moved to worcester from manchester and seems like a nice guy anyway game 1 legendary jujitsu face down he attacks it with gale bounce to top of his deck from there i summon raiza after raiza spinning his back line cards so he gets dead draws and i take game, game 2 he slowly kills my gadgets but due to me activating oppression he cant synchro and once again legendary jujitsu master into monarchs and thats game

round 2
vs dan heany (koa'ki meiru)
1st time anyones used this type of deck and its basically an oppression deck but i did'nt get to seee much of it as in both games gadgets and shrinks was enough

round 3
vs stu (blackwing)
game 1 he gets early synchro i cant do anything game 2 he plays deck dev tuen 2 and bye bye goes my hand Laughing

round 4
gordon jones (gadget oppression)
same deck as mine as we built it night before game 1 he gets good back line and gadgets before me, game 2 well this was a matter of my gadget attack yours shrink or book of moon and i took it, game 3 went on forever we just kept cancelling each other out and i kept getting legendary jujitsus on field we were both on 1300lp with 6 cards each in deck i get marshamllon he attacks goes down to 300lp a couple of turns pass with nothing but he tops monarch for game

vs matthew swift (macro)
well have'nt seen this guy for a while and today he been doing pretty well but macro just does'nt effect gagdets Cool

and when hes playing one of the helios with no attack or defence as his only move then i just took advantage in getting multiple gadgets out for game. game 2 he started off stronger but a pwwb and legendary jujitsu master clearing his monsters made way for my d.d.warrior lady and i was backed up with 2 shrink and a bottomless so game went to me

well im one of like 10 players on 3 wins so i wait and see if i made top 8 and i do Very Happy

my 3rd match against blackwing today and i was 1-1 so did'nt know how it would go, game 1 gadgets and monarch get me game very quickly, game 2 im quickly on backfoot but a nicely timed oppression on his goyo(i think) followed by a caius and well that was too much and claim the win

I get outside Videodrome for 9.30 to find Gord outside, talked for a while then went inside to wait for the start of the tourney.

Played some firendlies with Gord and got my trades from Tim.

Really wanted to run Vayu, but din't have any or any BW synchro's and everyone that came in didn't have any for trade, so with 10 mintues before the start I go outside with Gord and decide to check at manaleak, and luckily they had a Vayu and a BW Armed Wing, so I traded for it and then decided with Gord what to take out for them and the Sirocco I got off tim earlier.

So round 1, I get a bye, I would much sooner have played, especially being that this round went on for ages.

Round 2 Gord

He's using Gadget Oppression and I knew as soon as he got Oppression out, I would be dead and lo and behold he had oppression first turn, he takes round 1. Round 2 I side in forced ceasefires and they came up a treat. Round 3 I use Iron chain dragon and a removed necroface to cut down his deck a little and in the end i took the win. Was a very hard fought match and one i didn't expect to win.

Round 3 Charlie

Well what can I see, both rounds I put up a fight but he had complete control and took me both games.

Round 4 Chris Harman

He running Hopeless dragon and managed to swarm the field with so many big scaley things I couldn't get back in the game.
Round 2 I make a few mistakes but manage to take it.
Round 3 I'm up on LP but on the defensive with a Reaper, I think ok I can stay behing it until I get what I need, until he summons spear dragon and my necro gardnas soon go and I'm left defending against a field full of dragons inlcuding the defence piercing dragon. Chris takes it.

Round 5 Dan

He's running Koaki deck, never played it before, he puts up a fight but I have stardust out and all his destroying effects get negated, he scoops having topped a iron core, with nothing else in hand or on field.

Top 8 Shane

Turns out we're running the smae deck, bar a few cards.

Very back and forth but in the end he takes it.

Pros

Tested my new Burial deck with good results
Got me a Vayu
Got the Burial I needed, plus another 5 throught the day.

Cons

Making so many stupid mistakes

so a week before

im up the millenium point in birmingham the day after i obtained my 3 doomcaliber knights

so i'm up the tank and test a stun deck had to be made but wasn't mad about running it

i then built a blackwing deck with 3 raiza in and play tested that for a while and found it to considerbly consistant so i went home and tested the deck against amercians on yvd and 90% of the time smash'd them lol

i also found the raiza majoirty of the time would clog my hand to much so i decided to drop them

at work i bruised all my foot and couldn't walk properly for 3 days with the rest of the week of work i decided to playtest the deck as i seen it been a very consistant perfect circle blackwing archtype

so after great testing on YVD i decide to play the doom caliber knights and against lightsworn its amazing if i open 1st that is lol

so my deck is ready and about 6 hours perfecting the side i was ready sorted my folder out and got ready took a hot bath mmmmmmmmm!!!

and went to bed i woke up shower got train jack and shane should of been on the train but missed it i told them they will miss round 1 but they didnt mind to much (found out they were in mcdonalds and they forgot about the train untill i txt them saying your not on train lol)

so blah blah blah

hes running blackwing game 1 i open all spells i dont like wasting to i just end he thinks i have gorz and sets 2 and ends i draw shura but i read bottomless but had my body in hand i summon shura and he dont do anything i attack and he plays bottomless thinking its mirror force lol i tell him no bboggy and just set it again and i attack his facedown kalut i activate shuras ability and summon the shield in defence i set an icarus and eventtully take game 1

game 2 he starts and sets a monster and ends i follow up with doomcaliber knight and attack into another kalut Lol i end he draws plays brain control i sigh he then summons blizzard and tell him it dies along with doomcaliber knight he just ends -2 misplay ben read the card

game 2 he summons a gadget and sets 2 bak row i draw and summon sirroco and set a back card and end
in draw phase i deck dev and he drops his hand bar caius he ends and i storm and slowly beat down with kalut he draws another caius and loses another gadget via deck dev and has no way of coming back

game i open amazingly and win fiarly quickly
game 2 he opens pretty bad i open doomcaliber knight and sits behind a reaper for a while untill i build momentum with my had advantage i take after he draws bad and i end up otking for game

were the only 2 players at videodrome worcester that play full on lightsworn soon to be tim aswell xD so both of us are playing new archtypes today me with a blackwing control sort of deck and him with recruiter chaos. dek

i cant really remember the games but i win

it actully didnt matter both of us hand topped 8 we were just playing to see who would top swiss

So I get to videodrome on saturday as early as I can get. Get the usual warm welcome (complete silence and ignorance, LOL) and sit down waiting for everyone else to turn up. Then we get underway once everyone has arrived.

Round 1 (vs. Will Barnett):

As Tim likes to say, I oppressioned his ass in games 1 and 3 with the usual Blackwing battering in game 2.

Round 2 (vs. Stu Watts):

Stu's a nice guy but I DREAD facing him in tourneys becos he just pwns me completely each match. No-brainer here.

1-1

Sideswipe: I call someone the W-word really LOUDLY, which gives me a game loss. Dumb move on my part.

Round 3 (vs. Shane Bell):

Due to the game loss, I didn't get any momentum going. I crashed and burned.

1-2

Round 4 (vs. Luke Perczyk):

Can't exactly remember what happened here, except that he battered me 2-0.

At this point I decide to drop due to a little burnout. If it wasn't for that game loss, I may've got 2-2, but hey, you reap what you sow.

Pros:
Getting a win against Blackwings Very Happy

Pulling a super Krebons and making a fiver out of it Razz

Meeting a couple of newbies (to the group, I mean)
Considering how many we fit in the tiny room, the space wasn't too cramped this time round Razz

2 Turbo Packs at a £5 entry tourney!!!
